In this powerful monologue, a leader shares a personal reflection on how servant leadership has shaped their journey, their sense of purpose, and their commitment to those they serve. Drawing on years of leading teams and championing others, this session illuminates the profound impact servant leadership has—not only on organizations—but on the lives of clients, families, and entire communities, including those affected by the criminal legal system. Participants will be reminded that leadership decisions are never abstract; they are felt in real and lasting ways by the people on the receiving end. This session will challenge leaders to recognize their responsibility to lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose, knowing that the quality of leadership directly influences the quality of justice.

Session Description:
This dynamic lecture invites participants to explore transformational leadership not just as a theory, but as a personal calling. Dr. Lori James will guide attendees in examining how their values, experiences, and vision shape their leadership identity and influence others. Participants will learn how transformational leaders inspire trust, foster growth, and create meaningful change within their teams and organizations.
Session Goals:

1. Participants will identify the core principles of transformational leadership and assess how these principles align with their own leadership identity and practice.
2. Participants will reflect on their personal leadership influence and identify at least one intentional strategy to lead with greater purpose, authenticity, and impact.
3. Goal setting and smartie goals and give a handout 

In this session, participants will explore the process of identifying their core values—the guiding principles that shape how they lead, make decisions, and show up for others. Through reflection and practical exercises, leaders will gain clarity on what matters most to them and learn to articulate the values that anchor their work. We will examine why self-awareness around core values is essential to authentic, consistent leadership, especially when navigating difficult choices and competing priorities. Participants will leave with a clearer sense of their personal leadership foundation and tools to align their actions, teams, and culture with the values they hold most deeply.
