About me
Caitlin Becker (she/her) is Social Work Director of Complex Advocacy in the Family Defense Practice at the Bronx Defenders (BxD). Prior to returning to BxD to take on this role, Caitlin was the Director of Holistic Defense at the Santa Cruz County Office of the Public Defender. She has been a holistic defense social worker for more than a decade, representing people charged in the criminal legal, family, immigration, and civil systems in New York and California. Before moving out to Santa Cruz to help build a new holistic public defender office, Caitlin was the Managing Director of Social Work at The Bronx Defenders, where she directed a team of more than 50 social workers and advocates representing people on interdisciplinary defense teams. She is a member of the National Association of Public Defense's (NAPD) Well Being Summit and co-chairs the Committee on Multidisciplinary Representation with the American Bar Association’s National Alliance for Parent Representation. Caitlin earned her Masters in Social Work from Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service in 2010 and her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Communication Studies from Boston College in 2005.
