About me
Daniel Potter-Engelskirger, LCSW is the Supervisory Mitigation Specialist for the Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. He previously led the social work practice at the Federal Public Defender for the Western District of Washington. Prior to his defense work, Daniel worked in HIV prevention and care, outpatient behavioral health, school-based mental health and restorative justice, hospitals, and skilled nursing. He has served as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Washington School of Social Work. He is passionate about recruiting more social workers into public defense, LGBTQ+ service and advocacy, and his Mini Australian Shepherd.
